Components of Creativity

The four key components of creativity are as follows:

1. Cognitive:

Can follow divergent or convergent path. The divergent route allows an individual to determine different solutions to a given situation. Whereas, the convergent route causes an individual to generate one unique solution based on different ideas (Ahmadi & Besançon, 2017) .

2. Conative:

Intrinsic or extrinsic factors of motivation that enhances the creativity of an individual. Some personality traits that can influence the level of creativity includes independence, flexibility and openness to new experiences (Ahmadi & Besançon, 2017) .

3. Emotions:

The emotional intensity of an individual along with the nature of creative task has an influence on the impact that emotions have when being creative (Ahmadi & Besançon, 2017) .

4. Environment:

The familial or school environment that allows individuals to question, share opinions and be engaged in critical thinking plays a crucial role in the development of creativity (Ahmadi & Besançon, 2017) .
