Cranbrook hosted the start of Stage 2 of the 2018 OVO Energy Tour of Britain with a selection of the world's best bike riders taking in the streets of the new town and the hills of the Devon countryside as they headed towards the finish line in Barnstaple. The event is commemorated with a specially designed bicycle storage sculpture within the Local Centre at Younghayes Road.
