Science and Social Justice:
Case Studies at the Intersection of Science and Inequity
Case Studies at the Intersection of Science and Inequity
This project is the concluding chapter of the CORE101 Open Pedagogy Project. I was inspired in 2017 to create resources for non-major science students written by non-major science students and the results were overwhemingly positive. And while I tried my best to encourage my students to step outside the box and question the status quo between Fall of 2018 and Fall of 2022, only a few groups were confident enough to include information about how science perpetuates inequity.Â
During my final semester at RWU, I decided to take the chance and focus all of our attention on the intersection of Science and Social Justice. This website includes 24 case studies that illustrate the ways in which science, despite being "objective", results in inequity globally.
