The ocean is home to the greatest biodiversity on earth. Within our oceans is the smallest form of life - bacteria and also the largest which would be the blue whale. With only 5% of the earth’s oceans having ever been explored, there is still so much we haven’t identified within our waters, and “the number of species that live in the ocean is unknown (NOAA, 2021).
Deep below the ocean surface lies some of the most unique and diverse animal and plant species. Yet, there also remain many surprises and mysteries within our oceans!
