Through the backing of Gatsha Buthelezi and the Inkatha movement, The Nation was published in Braamfontein. The Nation also referred t as Nations was unique among 'homeland' publications because of its effort to attract Black readers and credibility in designated 'white' urban areas. It was and English publication with individual articles in IsiZulu and Sesotho.
