Here is an updated version of my email to Sunil, Ram, Rakesh …to get thoughts about the MOST strategic prospects
I have made several connections with potential sales prospects as I try to focus on specific types of more "strategic prospects" where we can demonstrate how we were (literally) instrumental to helping them. My goal is to build a pipeline of qualified prospects and predictable sales... by understanding the market needs that match our promises.
Per the NPR story about the Bill in California, this is the comment to consider, "... 5000 companies forced to comply."
Is this (one of) the best situations to look for worried sales prospects? Which of these 5000 should we be talking to? What is the timing for their fear and our process?
As we prioritize Governance "situations" around the world with the; closest timeline, weight of punishment, urgency, compatibility with our capabilities, and match with our mission...
Which situation should be our priorities?
Which authorities have the most muscle and teeth where we will we see non-compliance lead to fines and other discipline?
Which can we point to that position OUR SOLUTIONS as the ideal method to prevent such pain?
What are the (most) important promises that we can make?
Prevent x$ in fines
Increase sales x%
Save xTime with new efficiencies
What can we offer that will inspire them to take a FIRST MEETING with us?

A few more thoughts:
The right clients will be our Partners that share benchmark data and WANT to brag about these shifts. This is rare but valuable.
A cultural mind-set match is also key. There is power and promotion when they have a planet-conscious (often younger) customer base.
Let's get out the imaginary "crystal ball" and imagine our plan...
Years ago I did a project with Jeff Bezos and Harvard where he had us write a press release several months in advance... with all the details and participants... that we could follow like a road map.
A Big Problem = CSOs are MBAs... NOT Communicators
I have been working on the remedy for this in adjacent markets. The method is to invite peer-group conversations on cross-department topics that intrigue and support CSOs, CMOs, CTOs, and CEOs (throw in CHROs). We start with our own inner circle and clients. Good?

We work with an existing “Magazine” or create our own "channel"... A gallery of news and info that CSOs can follow. This would dynamically stream content like a dashboard of industry actions, reactions, AND recommendations from community votes and panels AND opinionated leaders with the right intentions... LIKE Ram!
We could collaborate with partners like AWMA and select vendors with adjacent solutions.

Lawmakers in the European Parliament voted 544-18 to approve the adoption of new proposed rules requiring companies to substantiate and verify their environmental claims and labels, aimed at protecting consumers from greenwashing. The new rules form Parliament’s negotiating position on the EU Commission’s proposed “Directive on Green Claims” released in March 2023.
