General Tips

  • Remember that many people come to our website through very small devices (or perhaps, Google Home or Alexa). No one wants to hunt for info these days. Put the most important information at the top.
  • Keep a book club post to less than 2 paragraphs -- but more than just the title of the book.
  • Sell! Sell! Sell!
  • If you use Canva or LibraryAware to create snazzy graphics, you MUST include whatever is on the image as text in your description. (Reading machines for accessibility can do NOTHING with a graphical image)

The African-American Authors book club reads works that focus on writers of African descent, the history of African-American people or people of the African diaspora.

Please join us for our discussion of The Last Black Unicorn by Tiffany Haddish.

The stand-up comedian and co-star of The Carmichael Show presents a humorous collection of autobiographical essays that reflect her disadvantaged youth as a foster child in South Central Los Angeles, her discovery of her talent for comedy and her struggles with gender, race and class boundaries in the entertainment industry.
