  • Who is the intended audience?
  • What does the audience needed to know?
  • What are the important aspects of the story?

Quick Tips

Remember that many people come to our website through very small devices (or perhaps, Google Home or Alexa). No one wants to hunt for info these days. Put the most important information at the top.

File Format: Word .doc/.docx or Google Docs (Don’t forget to share with me)

Every post or entry on your calendar needs the following for your website:

1-2 paragraphs of text in order:

✔️Title of the event (or title of book, if a book club meeting)

✔️ Full date including YEAR

✔️Description with image (book cover, artist/author image, general photos > find one via on our website, pexels.com or pixabay.com)

✔️Any other relevant info (for book clubs, this may include listing the next month’s book)

Detailed checklist

Events - 1 to 2 paragraphs (in the following order)

✔️ Name of your event, e.g., Lunar Landing Event

✔️Where: Time (Time (PM/AM), Month, Day, Year (mandatory), Room # (optional but useful), e.g.. July 21, 2019 11AM-2PM, MPR-C

✔️Image - See pixabay.com, pexels.com for nice images you can use legally (if you are having issues finding an image, please talk to Robin)

✔️Why / About: Description (Look for reviews, publisher summaries, etc. or write your own) If you use/quote the publisher of a book or the artist’s website, please make use quotation marks AND cite the source.

  • "Description (copy from publisher’s website for the book)" -- From the publisher.

✔️Image from elsewhere on our website or pexels.com (download to your computer)- put all of this into a word (or Google docs) document. (Yes, your list of events for the month will be long. That’s ok! :-)
