A Revit model is a 3D, parametric Building Information Model (BIM) composed of data-rich components representing the entire building life cycle. The Revit model identifies the comprehensive 3D dimensions of a structure, including accurate wall thicknesses and the vertical positioning of window sills, head heights, and ceiling heights. It documents the actual, in-place construction of architectural and structural elements to create a precise digital twin. Line Weights/Styles: Use consistent line weights (e.g., 0.35-0.50mm for cut walls, 0.25-0.35mm for projections) to enhance readability.
Components: Use Detail Components for repetitive, non-modeled items like brick patterns or standard fasteners.
Reference Views: Use Drafting Views for details that do not change based on the model, such as typical connection details.

The Linework Tool (LW): A tool that allows the user to override the edge style of a 3D model element in a specific view, such as changing a projection line to a hidden line.
Scale Dependency: Similar to AutoCAD, these 2D lines are view-specific and their on-screen appearance changes with the view scale.
2D Drafting Views: Separate views used to draft details from scratch, commonly used for complex connections that are too time-consuming to model in 3D.
