Mariana Pereira Mendes is an undergraduate student majoring in Chemical Engineering at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Her interests include computational modeling, multiscale simulations, and their applications to energy and materials science.
Mariana gained industry experience as a Product Development Intern at Embraer (Summer 2025), where she contributed to the Structures & Materials team of the KC-390 Millennium Military Cargo Aircraft, performing engineering analyses, developing optimization tools, and supporting cross-team integration.
Her research focuses on atomistic and coarse-grained simulations of liquid–liquid interfaces, with broader research interests in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and simulation-driven process design. Outside of academics, Mariana enjoys karaoke and playing Just Dance.
