What is TCP/IP

• The Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) protocol suite was developed by the U.S Department of Defense (DoD) and has been implemented in all networking devices since its approval. 

• The protocol suite is currently maintained by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).

• The TCP/IP protocol suite consist 4 layers.
