Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)

• Scope - The range of IP addresses (pool).

• Exclusion ranges - The IP addresses which should not be distributed on the network.

• Reservation - Reserves IP addresses from the pool.

• Dynamic assignment - Dynamically assign an IP address to a client.

• Static assignment - Statically configure an IP address on a client.

• Lease time - Set the time period which the client can use the IP address given from the DHCP client.

• Scope options - Additional operations which can be configured when creating the scope.

• Available leases - Identify the available lease time for an IP address.
