70s/80s Verse:
Maggie was there in London, right at the heart of the burgeoning punk scene from the word go. She was there in the fashion, in the music, in the clubs, helping to promote her favorite up and coming band. She was there for them, ran their fan club, designed their merch, printed flyers, spread the word. She was there for their first big American tour. She was there when tensions ran high and the band imploded half way through the tour dates. The band, however, weren't there for her when they all decided to fly back home separately and leave Maggie Williams stranded without a penny to her name to fend for herself.
Taking odd jobs at bars, restaurants, whoever would hire the young punk, she scrimped and saved what she could. Her plans to head back to England were derailed, however, when her and Colt Declan crossed paths and she was reluctantly drawn into the world of the paranormal. She's close with the former soldier, regularly dishing out sass, turning him onto the latest punk music, and generally giving him an earful when he does something reckless (which is often)
Modernverse:
Maggie had an interest in magic and witchcraft from a very young age, practicing, studying, honing her craft as she grew. While not a very powerful magic user, the potential was there and her skill with spells was enough to get her noticed by some very important people. A botched exorcism lead to an entire small town being possessed and landed the young mage in hot water, causing those same important people to jump at the sight of blood. Faced with jail time or a place on their covert suicide squad, the punky witch picked the latter with great reluctance, finding herself among the likes of Colt Declan and Kira Sorokina.
