Backstory

(Inspired by Pulp Adventure movies, Pulp Cthulhu, 70s horror/grindhouse/pulp adventure novels, and 80s action and horror movies)

70s/80s Verse: 

Born into a broken and abusive home,  Colt was drafted into the Vietnam war at a young age. Deep in the jungles, and back at home, he'd seen his fair share horrors, both of the man made kind and those beyond human comprehensions. Call it bad luck, a curse, or some sort provenience, but Colt's always been a magnet for the supernatural. 

His time as a soldier left him disillusioned with the government, distrustful and hostile towards most forms of authority. Colt is a man who's dealing with his trauma one step at a time, while simultaneously finding himself face to face with the unknown on a regular basis. Kind, cunning, calm and resourceful, Colt wanders from place to place, searching for some semblance of peace. His strong sense of right and wrong lead him into a number of sticky situations and conflicts. Despite this, Colt retains a surprisingly zen attitude. 

Modernverse: 

Colt's habit of of getting into trouble finally caught up to him. Forced to choose between rotting away in a prison cell or joining a covert squad trained in handling supernatural threats, Colt reluctantly chose the latter. Subjected to experiments to give him an edge in his missions left him with a modest healing factor, a boost to his strength and a slowed rate of aging. 

Threads can be set during his reluctant tenure as an agent, or after he's finally broken free and resumed his adventures solo.
