What alternatives were evaluated, including upgrades to existing facilities, reconductoring, grid-enhancing technologies, different voltages, or different configurations?
Why 765 kV specifically, rather than a lower voltage or a different configuration?
Why this particular corridor, in each affected community?
What existing transmission corridors were studied for each greenfield segment, and why were they accepted or rejected?
IMPACTS, ROUTE BY ROUTE
How many acres of new right-of-way would each route alternative require?
How many agricultural acres and prime-farmland acres would each alternative affect?
How many residences would be within defined distance bands of each alternative?
How many wetland, waterway, and floodplain acres would each alternative cross?
What are the expected structure heights, span lengths, and right-of-way widths?
What are the expected audible-noise levels at specified distances, under fair and wet-weather conditions?
What permanent access roads or construction access would be required?
FARMS, HOMES, AND COMPENSATION
What protections exist for topsoil, drainage tile, compaction, and agricultural productivity during and after construction?
What compensation, if any, is proposed for homeowners whose property is near the corridor but not physically crossed (and therefore not covered by an easement payment)?
What property-value studies has MGS performed, including for adjacent non-easement properties?
What route changes, if any, have resulted from public comments received so far?
PROCESS AND MONEY
What consultation has occurred with American Transmission Company (ATC) and other existing transmission owners regarding shared or paralleled corridors?
How will MGS demonstrate compliance with Wis. Stat. 1.12(6) (Wisconsin's corridor-siting hierarchy) in its eventual PSC application?
Who ultimately pays for BECI, and how are costs allocated among Wisconsin ratepayers and the broader MISO footprint?
What happens financially if the project is proposed but is not ultimately constructed, or is built at a different scope?
What financial or rate incentives apply to MGS, and how do they allocate risk between investors and ratepayers?
