Chromebook trolley - used by Junior Cycle students to reduce the digital divide. The student digital team bring the devices to teachers who have booked them in advance.
Nine laptops were given to the music department as they use an app which runs on Microsoft.
Eight devices (Chromebooks and Laptops) were given to the Science Department as they have Leaving cert projects that need to be submitted online.
Ten chromebooks were given to the Home Economics class to enable them to reduce the digital divide when doing CBAs or leaving cert projects.

Following a collaboration with Athy college we introduced 2 digital media labs. The idea behind this facility was to allow for effective cooperative learning using devices.
We use the compass School information system and as part of this we have a kiosk to allow students to sign in late and visitors to sign in.
All staff have been given chromebooks - we discovered that some staff require touch screen and are upgrading some devices to allow for that.
In collaboration with Wriggle we offer a 1-1 Chromebook scheme to students we have had an 80% uptake on this.
Feedback from some teachers:
Chromebooks given to English Dept during CBA preparation for the Oral Presentations to facilitate students who do not have individual devices.
Chromebooks are also given to English students who are using AT for exam purposes to facilitate their learning during class time.
Chromebooks given to students in AT classes to facilitate typing practice on devices other than personal phones or iPads. Also allows students to access voice to text typing for classwork/homework.
