Collaboration & Networking
We have a number of subject departments who have links with other schools eg HomeEconomics.
Our school has links with Borrisokane whereby we organise a meetup with 2nd year coding students where they compete and share their makecode arcade games. They are also a mentor school for the digital school awards.
The DLT coordinator set up a student digital team and they applied to be SID ambassadors with webwise and will attend training in January. Subsequently, they will run an internet safety campaign in our school on algorithms and how they monitor .
We also have successfully applied and received the ICT Grant of €9,600 from the Department of Education. This grant will be used to buy devices and micro:bits and our student digital team will teach micro:bits to first years and primary school students on their taster days.
We have 23 female students who will complete the STEM passport this year.
