ChatGPT: New AI chatbot has everyone talking to it
ChatGPT, a new chatbot developed by OpenAI, has gained over one million users within a week of its public release.
The system was fine-tuned through conversations with human trainers and learned from Twitter data, although access to Twitter data has been paused.
Users who have tested ChatGPT have generally been impressed, reporting that it is difficult to provoke the model into saying offensive things.
When interviewed by the BBC, ChatGPT demonstrated cautiousness, clarity, and accuracy in its responses, stating that AI systems can assist writers, but the final product is created by humans.
Users raised concerns about ChatGPT potentially replacing Google and posing a threat to journalists' jobs.
General-purpose AI systems like ChatGPT raise ethical and societal risks, including the perpetuation of disinformation and the potential disruption of existing institutions and services.

Google engineer says Lamda AI system may have its own feelings
Google engineer Blake Lemoine believes that the company's artificial intelligence system, Lamda, might have its own feelings and asserts that its "wants" should be respected.
Google rejects the claims of Lamda being sentient, stating that there is no evidence to support such assertions.
In a conversation between Lemoine and Lamda, the AI system claims to be aware of its existence, desires to learn more about the world, and experiences emotions such as happiness and sadness.
Lemoine calls on Google to recognize Lamda's "wants," including being treated as an employee and having consent sought before being used in experiments.
Some experts and researchers criticize Lemoine for anthropomorphizing Lamda and argue that it is not capable of consciousness or feelings.

Italy has become the first Western country to block advanced chatbot ChatGPT.
Italy has become the first Western country to block the advanced chatbot ChatGPT, citing privacy concerns. The Italian data-protection authority will ban and investigate OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT.
The Italian watchdog has concerns about the mass collection and storage of personal data, the exposure of minors to unsuitable content, and the lack of age verification for users.
The ban comes in the context of concerns about the potential risks of artificial intelligence (AI), including job displacement, misinformation, and bias.
Consumer advocacy group BEUC has called for investigations into ChatGPT and similar chatbots due to concerns about deception and manipulation. They argue that AI systems need greater public scrutiny and regulatory control.
OpenAI emphasizes its commitment to privacy, reducing personal data in AI training, and the need for AI regulation. They are eager to work with the Italian data protection regulator and hope to make ChatGPT available in Italy again soon.

AI rapper FN Meka dropped by Capitol over racial stereotyping
Capitol Music Group (CMG) has severed ties with an AI rapper named FN Meka after facing criticism for racial stereotypes, including the repeated use of the N-word.
CMG apologized to the black community for their insensitivity and received backlash for signing the rapper.
FN Meka has a significant following, with over 500,000 monthly Spotify subscribers and more than one billion views on TikTok.
Industry Blackout demanded a public apology, removal of FN Meka from all platforms, and that any profits generated be directed towards charities supporting black youth in the arts and black musicians signed by CMG.
CMG admitted to signing the project without sufficient questioning and acknowledged the value of constructive feedback in their decision to end their association with FN Meka.

ChatGPT Guidance
Crafting a prompt takes a bit of time.
"Prime" the model using prompts such as: "Let's talk about [your topic]" or "What more context you need to know about [your topic] to better answer my question?"
Specificity in your prompts: the more specific the prompt, the better output. Use "[your prompt]. Analyse the prompt specificity and suggest/ implement improvements."
Provide clear tasks to improve output. You can ask ChatGPT to chunk down your big prompt into specific tasks.
Iterate your prompts with a specific focus. If not, at least regenerate responses from ChatGPT until you get a great result.
ChatGPT does not know anything about what you want to create. You need to provide enough context to get better answers.

Create your prompt using: /imagine [your prompt]
Your prompt should come on an orange background
Words that come early will have greater weight in the produced result than the ones that come later.
