Komsomolsky is the most Northerly point on our route. It is so far North that the sun sets around the 4 December & doesn't rise again until early January. Luckily for us, it is daylight for around 6 hours by the beginning of February.

It is gold mining town, and population has fallen rapidly to around 500 since the largest mine was shut in the 1990s
