Welcome to the official website for the Grand High Kingdom of Cocklpot, a micronation founded on the 21st of May 2021. Led by His Majesty, Grand High King James, our nation embraces a unique cultural identity and a commitment to diplomacy.

Our founder and reigning monarch, King James, is the visionary leader behind Cocklpot. King James' ascension to the throne marked the birth of the Grand High Kingdom of Cocklpot. Cocklpot operates as an absolute monarchy, with King James wielding ultimate executive and legislative authority. However, he has established an advisory Privy Council consisting of regional nobles and any other individuals he wishes to invite, which can propose legislation and work in consultation with the King. This system aims to balance the power of the monarchy with input from key figures in the nation.

Diversity and Multiculturalism: Cocklpot places a strong emphasis on diversity and multiculturalism. This commitment is evident through the nation's unique non-residential citizenship model, which allows individuals from around the world to become citizens of Cocklpot without relocating. While Cocklpot currently does not offer residential citizenship, this approach promotes a rich and diverse cultural environment within the nation.

Environmental Stewardship: Cocklpot is steadfast in its commitment to have a positive environmental impact. While acknowledging the challenges posed by its small size, the nation encourages its citizens to adopt sustainable practices such as recycling. The goal is to contribute to global environmental efforts and, as the nation grows, to actively support existing causes and establish its own non-profit initiatives dedicated to addressing environmental issues.

Cultural Preservation and Modernity: Cocklpot embraces a balance between cultural preservation and modernity. The nation values its traditions and believes in drawing from history for contemporary solutions. As King James wisely put it, "Don't be afraid to look for ancient solutions to modern problems; history is one of our most precious resources, and we ought not to forget it." At the same time, Cocklpot recognizes the importance of not becoming mired in the past and aims to address present-day issues that require innovative solutions. To preserve elements of traditional monarchies, a complex system of nobility and chivalric orders has been established.

International Cooperation: Diplomacy and international cooperation are fundamental principles of Cocklpot's foreign policy. The nation is openly committed to peaceful diplomatic relations, both with other micronations and on a larger, macronational scale. Cocklpot seeks to contribute positively to the global community and foster friendly relations with nations around the world.

Separation of Church and State: Cocklpot upholds a firm commitment to the separation of church and state. This principle is not only an administrative decision but a core pillar of governance. The King believes that leadership should remain impartial, free from religious influence, ensuring fairness and justice in his realm.  

International Recognition: The Grand High Kingdom of Cocklpot has made strides in gaining recognition on the international stage, albeit primarily within the micronational community. Several fellow micronations, including but not limited to the Kingdom of Kinsella and the Kingdom of Spruce Hill, have extended formal recognition to Cocklpot. Nevertheless, we continues to strive for recognition from larger, more established nations. King James and his advisors are actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to expand Cocklpot's international presence.

National Symbols: The pied Butcherbird represents Cocklpot on our heraldic standards, and our distinctive flag and national coat of arms proudly display our identity.

Whilst the Crown and Government of Cocklpot is committed to keeping church and state seperate we also understand and acknowledge the importance of religion in the lives of our citizens, to this end, we celebrate a range of religious holidays and recognise them as national holidays, including major Wiccan sabbaths, as well as global holidays like Easter and Christmas.

Sovereignty Day, celebrated on the 21st of May, marks our nation's founding.
