MOST OUTSTANDING UNIT IN THE NATION
2019 & 2023
The Athletic, Academic, and Drill Team traveled to Naval Air Station Pensacola in Pensacola from March 27–28 to compete in the National Athletic, Academic, and Drill Championship. Cadets faced top competitors from across the nation and delivered an impressive overall performance. The team earned 1st place in curl-ups, 5th place in push-ups, and 5th place in the 100-yard run. Overall, they placed 4th in academics, 2nd in athletics, and 7th in the nation. Several cadets stood out for their individual achievements. Cadet Colin Gulka earned 1st place in academics, while Cadet Brayden Stark placed 6th. In male curl-ups, Cadet Brayden Reily took 1st place, Cadet Matthew Monchinski placed 5th, and Cadet Dylan Siedenburg finished 7th. Cadet Paige Suhocki placed 9th in female curl-ups. In male push-ups, Cadet Austin French placed 4th, Cadet Justin Poquinete placed 9th, and Cadet Kyle Schandall finished 7th. Congratulations to all cadets on an outstanding performance. Bravo Zulu!
On March 14–15, our cadets competed in the National Orienteering Competition in Gainesville, Florida. Over two days, cadets completed several courses of varying difficulty, testing their land navigation skills, endurance, and decision-making. The team placed 5th overall in the Varsity division and 6th overall in the Junior Varsity division. Several cadets also earned impressive individual placements: Cadet Paige Suhocki – 1st Place, Varsity Female Cadet Garrett Currie – 6th Place, JV Male Cadet Micaela Oels – 13th Place, JV Female. Their dedication, preparation, and teamwork were evident throughout the competition, and their results reflect the hard work they have put into training. On February 28th, our cadets competed in the Annual Area 2 Brain Brawl Competition hosted by Colts Neck High School. Demonstrating exceptional knowledge, teamwork, and dedication, our team earned a first-place overall finish. Congratulations to Cadets Monchinski, Gulka, Stark, Cooper, and Currie on this outstanding achievement. We wish them the best of luck as they advance to the National Brain Brawl Competition. On February 7, our Athletic, Academic, and Drill teams had the opportunity to compete at the annual Area 2 AAD competition, which was hosted by Owen J. Roberts High School. During the competition, our teams placed third in Color Guard, third in Armed Exhibition, and first in Athletics. The team placed second overall in the competition. Great job to all the cadets who took part — Bravo Zulu, Cadets!
