Tornado Team Guide!
Introduction:
Introduction:
The HMPS Tornado Team is a group consisting of highly trained officers, specifically ready to deal with major incidents inside of the prison cell block. These situations will mostly be riots but these officers must be ready for anything . Once trained, you will be able to become a Tornado Officer. Once the prison has entered lockdown, you will be equipped in Tornado Team gear ready to tackle whatever incidents occur.
Uniform
The Tornado Team uniforms gets you dressed appropriately. The uniform provides protection and accessible pockets for you to access Your equipment which is listed below.
Tornado Uniform & Equipment Guide
Equipment:
HMPS Shields:
The Tornado Team has access to two shields, you must be trained to use them. The shields are great tools to utilise during dangerous situations where multiple inmates are involved. These two shields have different uses, each should be used according to the rules listed below.
Short Shield - Short shields should be used when moving highly dangerous prisoners from Cells and doing cell breaches with other TRG units.
Long Shield - Long shields should be used at the front of the breaching structure to protect others that may have equipment out
PAVA Spray:
PAVA spray is an incapacitant spray similar to pepper spray. PAVA spray is another form of a non lethal, you can use it in the same way a taser should be used, however where a taser is used for one person, PAVA spray is exceptionally useful in a crowd of people to stop riots and will be your main source of calming riots down.

Flashbang:
A flashbang is a stun grenade which is less lethal, this is used to disorient an enemies vision. When thrown the flashbang erupts into a blinding flash of light and a loud bang.
Smoke grenade:
The smoke grenade is a great tool to use in situations. For example riots or dealing with armed intruders. When a smoke grenade is thrown it will let out a grey fog and block off any vision inside the fog area.
Breaching Structure:
Breaching is something that officers will encounter a lot whilst in the prison in Tornado Team. It is important that when breaching, it is done correctly and kept professional. This guide will explain how to breach step by step.
Riots in the prison:
If you have witnessed an inmate taking a baton or starting to get violent within the prison or another guard reports someone in the prison, here are the steps to follow.
Put prison on lockdown by doing /lockdown or by pressing the lockdown button in one of the control rooms.
Make sure all prisoners away from the riot are in a safe area, ensuring its still within the prison cell block
Make sure that if you are shotgun trained you are using the Non lethal shotgun as you will be facing knives, fists and batons
Get multiple Tornado units together to breach the affected room the riot is contained in and try to neutralise/apprehend the suspect/suspects.
Procedures:
Before contesting a riot, gather up and prepare to enter, stay together ensuring all prisoners are away from the riot and in a safe place to prevent injuries / death. (Ensure the prison is on lockdown)
When you have ensured the prisoners are safe you will now need to breach the area the suspects are located at. Follow the de-escalation order making sure you give verbal warnings first.
Once 2 warnings are given out and If they fail to give themselves up and you will then breach the room. Make sure either T2 or T3 in the breaching structure has their flashbang out and throw the flash into the area while T1 in breaching structure holds their shield with a taser / Non-Lethal Shotgun out ready to deal with anyone running at the door.
