Death and the Rainbow

Supernatural creatures in Dark Moon don't die of old age, or simple injuries. Even the worst physical injury will generally not stop you for long on its own - you'll regenerate, pull yourself back together.

What will stop you is Crossing the Rainbow.

All supernatural creatures are somewhat aware that there is a rainbow of emotional forces that keep them together and attached to reality. They correspond to the Tabletop system stats / Live system Setback types: 🩸Blood, ⭐️Courage, 🍀Grace, 🧿Sense, and 💜Heart.

If every one of these is eroded, if your ties to the world through each one of these are weakened, then your soul will fall out of this reality and into the grip of the darkness beyond.

The Moonshadows that gather at the Dark Moon sometimes resemble those who have Crossed the Rainbow. For this and similar reasons, it is incredibly taboo to cause another supernatural creature to perish in this fashion. The penalty for killing another member of CLS is exile, rather than death, such is the strength of this taboo.

Lethal PvP is possible in this game, with the following caveats:

• Only with the opt-in of the other player - check their PvP status on the Discord server before considering it.

• Please inform any relevant refs, especially linear refs if you intend to make an attempt on a linear.

• It is also very likely to render your character unplayable even if you succeed.
