Climbing in Uskedalen is reminiscent of the big walls in Yosemite. Although the area is still relatively unexplored, it offers a range of multi-pitch routes from 100 to 800 meters in length. The climbing style is traditional (placing protection as you go), and most of the climbing is on slabs and dihedrals, though there are also excellent cracks for those who enjoy jamming.
The granite is known for its exceptional friction, solid structure, and offers plenty of features for placing protection such as nuts and cams. Some routes have bolted belay stations, and on harder sections where protection is not possible, you may also find the occasional bolt.
For those seeking a unique and demanding climbing experience, Uskedalen’s granite offers a blend of high-quality rock, engaging climbing, and a remote alpine atmosphere.
