Lumi & Ember: Starfall Run — Privacy Policy
3 November 2026
Overview
Lumi & Ember: Starfall Run collects almost nothing: no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no account of its own. Your progress and settings stay on your headset. The only data that leaves the device goes to Meta, to confirm you own the game and to run the daily leaderboards.
This policy covers the game Lumi & Ember: Starfall Run for Meta Quest (package com.mgwd.lumiember), made by MGWD ("we", "us"). It takes effect on 3 November 2026.
What the game collects
The game keeps your save on the headset and sends only your Meta identity and scores to Meta.
Settings (dominant hand, lane and input options, world size, volume, subtitles, story language, mixed reality on/off): kept only on your headset, to remember your choices.
Progress (campaign levels, stars, stardust, best distances, tutorial state): kept only on your headset, to save your game.
Run history (date and time, mode, distance, stardust, duration): kept only on your headset, to show your own best runs of the day when offline.
Head, hand and controller positions: used live on the headset to steer Lumi and Ember and play the game; never stored or sent.
Meta user ID and display name (or Meta username): read from Meta when the game starts, to check that you own the game and to show your name on the leaderboards.
Age group of your Meta account (10-12, 13-17 or 18+): read from Meta when the game starts, with the last answer kept on your headset, to keep the leaderboards off for players aged 10-12.
Daily score (the day's best stardust or distance per mode): sent to Meta for the daily leaderboards, where other players can see it.
The game does not collect:
Voice or audio. The game does not ask for microphone access.
Camera images. In mixed reality, Quest draws your room itself; the game never receives camera images.
Room scans or spatial data, eye, face or body tracking, location, contacts or photos.
Payment details. Meta handles the purchase.
There are no ads, no analytics, crash-reporting or tracking tools, and no accounts. We do not sell or share your data for advertising.
Meta
Meta runs the store and the leaderboards and handles that data under its own privacy policy. No other company receives data from the game.
When the game starts, it asks Meta's Platform SDK to confirm that your account owns the game and asks Meta for your account's age group. If you are 13 or older, it then reads your Meta user ID and display name. After a run in an endless mode (Drift, Daily or Twin), your best score of the day is written to that mode's Meta leaderboard with the date. Other players see your display name, rank and score there. If you are offline, nothing is sent and the game shows only your own runs. Players aged 10-12 never use the Meta leaderboards: the game does not read their user ID or name, sends nothing about them and shows only their own runs.
Meta also processes data about your account, headset, purchases and use of Quest on its own. See the Supplemental Meta Platforms Technologies Privacy Policy and the Meta Privacy Policy.
Storage and deletion
We run no servers or databases of our own: your save lives on your headset, and uninstalling the game deletes it.
Save file. Settings, progress and run history are kept in one file in the game's private storage on the headset. Only the game can read it. It stays until you uninstall the game. If Cloud Backup is on in your Quest settings, Meta may keep a copy under its own policy.
Leaderboards. Each board keeps one entry per player, and a new day's score replaces the old one. The game shows only the current day. To have your entry removed, contact us and we will delete it.
Children
The game is made for players aged 10 and up, including children aged 10-12. When it starts, it asks Meta for the age group of your account (10-12, 13-17 or 18+), taken from your Meta account. For players aged 10-12 the game keeps the Meta leaderboards off: it does not read their Meta user ID or name, sends nothing about them to Meta and shows no other player's name. Their scores stay on the headset as their own runs of the day. If Meta cannot answer (for example offline), the game uses the last answer it got; until it has one, it treats the player as aged 10-12. The game has no ads, chat, purchases or links out of the game. Children under 10 may not use Meta Quest. If you think a child's name appears on a leaderboard, contact us and we will remove the entry.
