The Louisiana Port System Benchmarking and Preliminary Energy Assessment Planning Project is implemented through a collaborative partnership between the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD), the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, the Louisiana Transportation Research Center (LTRC), and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The project combines expertise in transportation, energy systems, environmental assessment, sustainability, economic development, and community engagement to develop a comprehensive planning framework for Louisiana's port system.
Project management is structured to ensure effective coordination among technical teams while maintaining consistent quality assurance and communication with project stakeholders. Each technical team is responsible for a specific focus area, including emissions assessment, energy assessment, energy resiliency, sustainability enhancement, economic development, and community benefits, working collaboratively to develop integrated planning strategies that can be adapted to ports of varying sizes and operational characteristics.
