Our puppies begin tasting softened kibble around 4 weeks of age and are fully transitioned to eating hard kibble by 8 weeks of age!
Feeding your puppy a high quality diet can not be stressed enough! 80% of canine vet bills in the United States are caused by issues that would have been prevented by proper diet and lifestyle! Schnauzers are particularly prone to developing health issues caused by the wrong diet. We believe our puppies only deserve the best, so we feed PawTree puppy food and reccommend that you feed your puppy this food until their first birthday then transition to the adult food we suggest below!
The flavor of puppy food we feed our puppies happens to be grain free... We did not specifically select a grain free food but our puppies found it more palatable than the flavors that contained grain so to help them smoothly transition to solid foods we selected the flavor they liked best. However, taste is not everything! A recent study shows that 100% grain free diets can lead to heart issues. While opting to feed a grain free diet has been controversial, we believe every dog owner should make informed decisions about their pet's life with the help of their vet and breeder. We wanted to share our suggestions and reasoning behind our recommendations. To select a dog food click on the button below to see all the flavors both grain free and made with wholesome grains!
