Government Polytechnic Porbandar was established in 1960 at Porbandar. The Department of Civil Engineering is dedicated to nurturing competent, innovative, and socially responsible Civil Engineering Professionals with a strong emphasis on; technical excellence, practical learning, and industry-oriented education, the department provides students with a comprehensive foundation in Planning, Design, Construction, and Maintenance of infrastructure systems. Guided by the curriculum of Gujarat Technological University; our department fosters a dynamic learning environment where engineering concepts extend beyond the classroom. Through advanced laboratory experiments, immersive field visits, innovative project-based learning, and meaningful industry engagement, students gain practical insights into real-world engineering challenges. We are committed to shaping competent diploma engineers who can design, build, and sustain the infrastructure of tomorrow while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, environmental responsibility, and professional ethics.  Initially institute was running courses for Diploma in Mechanical, Civil and Electrical Engineering.
