The Transportation Engineering Laboratory provides students with practical exposure to the planning, design, construction, operation, and management of transportation infrastructure systems. The laboratory supports the curriculum of Basic Transportation Engineering and Traffic Engineering by enabling students to perform tests on road construction materials, analyze pavement characteristics, conduct traffic volume and speed studies, carry out parking and origin-destination surveys, and evaluate traffic control devices. Students gain hands-on experience with highway materials testing, pavement performance assessment, traffic data collection, road safety analysis, and transportation infrastructure inspections. In this laboratory students also learn and demonstrate modern concepts such as Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Highway Traffic Management Systems (HTMS), and Smart Traffic Management Systems (STMS), which helps them to develop the technical skills required for efficient, safe, and sustainable transportation engineering practices. Through field studies, laboratory experiments, and project-based learning, the laboratory bridges theoretical knowledge with real-world applications in highway, railway, airport, and traffic engineering. This laboratory is equipped with equipment like Thickness Gauge, Length Gauge, Penetrometer, Sieve Set etc. This lab is connected with Multimedia Projector.
