The Water Supply and Sanitary Engineering Laboratory provides students with practical exposure to the principles and practices of water treatment, distribution, sanitation, and wastewater management. The laboratory is designed to support the curriculum by enabling students to perform water quality analysis, including tests for pH, turbidity, hardness, residual chlorine, total dissolved solids, BOD, and COD (Demonstration). Students gain hands-on experience with water and sewage treatment processes through Technical visit at Water Treatment Plant and West Water Treatment plant; design of septic tanks through assignment work, plumbing systems, sewer networks, and sanitation facilities. The laboratory is equipped with essential instruments such as water analysis kits, jar test apparatus, and various pipe fittings and sanitary models. Through practical experiments, site visits and technical projects students develop the skills required for planning, operation, maintenance, and sustainable management of water supply and sanitation systems, preparing them to address public health and environmental challenges in the civil engineering profession.
