DMMMSU-MLUC, City of San Fernando, La Union - In a proactive response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Circle of Peer Facilitators have launched ‘Angel for an Angel Version 2.0’ an initiative to provide free face masks and alcohol refills to Information Technology (IT) students throughout the first semester of the academic year 2022-2023. Understanding the importance of maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment, the peer facilitators have taken it upon themselves to help prevent the spread of the virus within the student community.
As the first semester kicks off, CPC has set up distribution centers across the CIT Bldg., ensuring easy access to face masks and alcohol refills for IT students. The initiative aims to not only promote adherence to health protocols but also to ease the financial burden associated with purchasing these essential protective items.
Under the program, each IT student will receive a supply of high-quality face masks, designed to provide adequate protection against airborne particles. In addition, designated refill stations have been set up, allowing students to replenish their hand sanitizer and alcohol supplies free of charge. These measures are in line with the recommended health guidelines and will contribute to creating a safe and hygienic campus environment.
Speaking about the initiative, Rizalyn Florague, a CPC Project Director actively involved in the distribution efforts, emphasized the importance of collective responsibility. "CPC is committed to the health and safety of its students. By providing free face masks and alcohol refills, we are promoting a culture of protection and care within our student community. It is crucial that we work together to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and prioritize the well-being of everyone."
The free face masks and alcohol refills have been met with overwhelming appreciation from IT students. Many have expressed their gratitude for the peer facilitators' efforts to ensure their safety and make the necessary resources readily available.
The initiative serves as a testament to the caring and proactive nature of the Circle of Peer Counselors. By providing free face masks and alcohol refills, they are actively contributing to the prevention of COVID-19 transmission and fostering a culture of responsibility and solidarity among the IT student community.
