(You’re FAIRLY RELIANT on social media)
This does not surprise me because I have cut down my social media time over the past few months, but I still scroll fairly often
I chose this stat because it shows how divided the younger generation is. When it comes to citizens 30 plus, they are more in agreement that the impact of social media is mostly negative. However, the younger generation is much more split apart, and it is scary because they are the future of this country.
I believe that social media is both positive and negative. It is positive because we can become more connected to each other around the world and be more aware of what is happening globally while making long-distance connections. We can make donations, help charities, and help communities through social media because we are more aware. The downside is that a lot of hate and negativity can be spread through social media as well. It can promote online bullying and also become way too addictive. Social media can mess with our dopamine if we consume too much of it.
I learned from this project the opinion of social media varies nationwide. I didn't realize how addicted our country was to getting dopamine hits on social media and now I am more aware.
