Way of organizing information so you can understand where things live, how they relate, and how to find them again
Root Folder
The file in the top of the hierarchy of a computer. All other files branch out from it
Working File vs Deliverable File (in concept)
A working file is used for editing and making changes whereas a deliverable file is used for sharing submitting or publishing
Saving vs Exporting
Saving commits your changes so the program can read and edit them later whereas exporting converts your work into a format that other programs or people can easily use
Operating System
Handles everything behind the scenes such as running programs, starting and shutting down your device, connecting to the internet, managing files/folders, and much more.
Open Source Software
Software with source code that anyone can inspect, modify, and enhance. It’s built on the principle of “public collaboration”.
