The MCMarKING application is built as an educational utility designed to streamline the marking of multiple-choice answer sheets. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our application.
By using MCMarKING, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
MCMarKING is designed with a privacy-first, on-device architecture.
Local Storage: All primary data—including student rosters, marking keys, scanned images, generated PDFs, and student scores—is processed and stored locally on your device.
No Centralised Servers: We do not operate any proprietary servers, nor do we harvest, transmit, or store your educational data on our own databases.
To facilitate seamless workflow integration for educators, MCMarKING offers optional synchronisation with Google Classroom and Google Drive. If you choose to authorise this integration, the app requests specific permissions (OAuth scopes) to perform actions on your behalf:
Google Classroom Data (Read/Write): The app reads your active courses, class rosters, and topics to allow you to match local students with their Google Classroom profiles. It also creates assignments and synchronises numerical grades directly to your Classroom.
Google Drive Data (Write-Only via drive.file): The app generates marked PDF answer sheets and uploads them to your Google Drive. It only has access to the specific files it creates and uses this access strictly to attach the marked PDFs to the corresponding student's Classroom submission.
MCMarKING's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically:
We do not use Google user data for advertisements.
We do not sell your data to third parties.
We only use the data to provide the app's core functionality (uploading marked scripts and synchronising grades to your Google Classroom).
Because your data is stored locally on your device and transmitted directly between your device and Google's servers (when using the Classroom integration), we do not share your personal information or student data with any third parties.
We value your trust in providing us with your data. The application relies on Apple's secure iOS file system (UserDefaults and sandboxed document directories) to protect your information locally. Interactions with Google services are conducted securely via encrypted protocols (HTTPS) using official Google authentication libraries.
Local Data: You retain full control over your local data. You may delete projects, registers, or student records at any time within the app, which will permanently remove them from your device's storage. Uninstalling the application will also erase all locally stored data.
Google Data: You may revoke MCMarKING's access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account Security settings.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding this Privacy Policy or the handling of your data, please refer to our official website: https://sites.google.com/view/chungtfhongkong/mcmarking
