Dr Moumdjian, Dr Bélanger, Dr Bahary
Dr. Lapointe, Dr Labidi, Dr El Haffaf
The CHUM neuro-oncology service was founded through a visionary collaboration between Dr. Jean-Paul Bahary (radiation oncologist), Dr. Karl Bélanger (oncologist, now retired), and Dr. Robert Moumdjian (neurosurgeon) in 1996. Over the years, the team has gradually expanded to include a dedicated nurse navigator, two additional oncologists (Drs. Marie Florescu and Bernard Lemieux), expertise in neuro-oncology (Dr. Sarah Lapointe, followed by Dr. Julien Rousseau), as well as strengthened radiation oncology support (Dr. David Roberge and Dr. Laura Masucci) and a complete clinical research team.
Our service has particularly distinguished itself through active participation in numerous international research protocols, with exceptional recruitment rates in several clinical trials. This growth and development have enabled the service to become the largest French-speaking adult neuro-oncology multidisciplinary team in Eastern Canada.
Today, our service stands out for its truly multidisciplinary approach, its dynamic and cohesive team, its constant commitment to clinical research, and its recognized expertise in the treatment of central nervous system tumors
