This semester was my first time taking classes in the ADL track for my Tech Ed. Masters and I would say that there was a huge learning curve from the work that I am used to doing. There was more collaboration that I am accustomed to doing with my previous courses and with my normal teaching position. Now I am used to the tech side of thing as I am the one on my team that turns assignments digital or create spreadsheets or Google forms that we would use. In EDLD 5389 I would rate myself at probably a 70 as I did not do most of the discussion board entries. Now I did have a collaborative group through GroupMe of Frank, Joseph, Ennija, and Paula, I did not utilize them very much in asking for feedback. I it hard for me to lean on other to for feedback as I am used to doing my own thing and have been burned in the past. I did revise what assignments that I could while working in this class, EDLD 5318, doing my practicum internship with EDLD 5398, teaching a tested subject, and caring for a pregnant wive and 15-month-old child. When designing my call to action I did try to make it look fancy, which being from a science background is not something that I am used to, backfired on me because I was not sure a plain Call to Action presentation would have been good enough. My professional learning idea was to create a platform for utilizing online lab simulations through PhET for online and blended learning, which is the free simulation for labs that I chose to use for my EDLD 5318 course. Now with 5318 I feel that my grade should be a little higher at probably an 85 as I was able to do a little more collaboration with that class as I build my online course. I am not going to lie I found it easier to work within 5318 as this is something that I already do at work as we must have all our lessons viewable online with a two-week glimpse for parents.  I was able do most of the discussions board posts and I received more feedback, with some come from outside sources as the class progressed.  I did utilize some of the feedback that I received for my professional learning plan to change and modify my online course in 5318. Part of this came in streamlining the few presentations that I was able to create and not make them as busy with words. I know that a presentation should not word heavy but when you teach students that are not going to write down the words that come out of your mouth on a daily basis, you tend to have wordy slides that come with guided notes. I will say that it was fun working on both 5389 and 5318 but it was challenging, and I don’t feel that I cut myself enough time for ether class with juggling everything else that I had to do and that I need to be better at asking for feedback on my work. In the end I probably gave myself to high of a rating and may not have even done this assignment correctly but isn’t that just part of the learning process.
