Introduction, Evaluation of Successes, Areas of Growth or Improvement
My expectations for this class based off of the name was going to be about the integration of digital resources into the classroom. Once the class started and I expectations were a little different from the course I really enjoy myself and it felt like some of the courses from my undergrad degree. I feel that every thing ran smoothly for me and I had a great group of individuals to help me along the way. When working within my cohort it worked well for use to use a Google Doc to collaborate so that we could add to it at our own schedule. Though this was great for us I do feel that it would have been better in communicating our ideas if had done our discussions as virtual meeting.
My initial outline had a few issues, but after getting feedback, I went back and made some changes to fix them. It really helped me organize my thoughts and get on the right track. My research topic looks at the long-term effects of students having a Chromebook with them throughout the school day.
Writing the rough draft really helped me start pulling my ideas together. The feedback I got from my peers and the professor was very helpful and gave me a better sense of what needed improvement. This assignment gave me the chance to dig deeper into the research and really think about how technology impacts education.
For my media project, I held a virtual meeting with my cohort to go over my publication and share what I had learned. It was a great way to talk through my research and get feedback in real time. I really liked being able to have a conversation about the topic instead of just presenting it. It helped me see different perspectives and made the project feel more meaningful.
After receiving valuable feedback from my cohort and professor I when to work refining my publication.
Conclusion
I thought it would just be about digital resources, but I ended up learning a lot about the publishing process and how to communicate research to a wider audience. Putting together my publication and presenting it in a virtual meeting really pushed me to organize my thoughts and explain them clearly. I’m walking away from this course with stronger writing skills and more confidence in sharing my work with others.
