Week 10

The doorknob and lock:

Now don't worry I am not going into every detail of how a doorknob and lock work... (If you want that look at the first picture below) But now that you are looking at the picture below, I think the smart lock that I had initially envisioned would have to work with a Mortise lockset type of door knob/handle. I would not want to have to build an entire door knob on top of connecting it to the tumbler because not only would it be more complex but now the facial recognition device would also be much lower unless I were to make a separate camera higher on the door.

The design that I was looking to achieve would be something discrete and small so that it does not draw unnecessary attention. We also want to make this lock secure because I was reading an article that showed how insecure many IoT products are.
