Vocabulary is a focus for reading comprehension which includes learning affixes. One of my goals is to make learning fun. Here is a picture of my students playing the word game Scrabble. It can help them make connections to words by adding prefixes and suffixes to root words. Next, my students will create crossword puzzles to share with their peers. Both games make learning fun for students.
Mentoring students inside and outside of school is vital in teaching the whole person. My goal is to have a positive impact on my students academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a picture of my family participating the a Breast Cancer Walk hosted by C.L.A.S.S., the mentoring group at Coolidge Middle School.
One of my student's major success this quarter was the completion of their first research paper and presentation. Students were to choose a topic of interest, find credible and reliable sources, write a paper, and present their findings. Once completed, it is a huge accomplishment in the district because it is one of the graduation requirements. Attached are a few examples of my student's presentations.
