What to Expect
My practice helps women and couples manage life stressors such as burnout, parenting, pre/postpartum challenges, trauma, marital issues, anxiety, isolation, anger, depression, and relational issues. We bring together the whole person with mind-body connection integrating somatic work, lifestyle, and psychological approaches.
I utilize traditional psychotherapy modalities and integrate somatic & nature-based therapy to achieve healing. Sessions can take place virtually, an office, or outdoors, whether we engage in traditional talk therapy alongside a river bed, EMDR, moving and connecting to your body through somatic experiences, breath work, or engaging in challenges such as hiking a forest trail. In the initial consult, we will determine duration of therapy, and intensity based on your goals.
Have you already done talk therapy and it wasn't effective? My personal path started out with talk therapy and although it has its merits, for me what was most healing was focusing on the body and integrating nature. Why? Our bodies connect us to the world; it is not just a vessel but your unconscious mind where your nervous system lives. In a world that promotes "mind over matter," our biology can easily be lost and past stress or trauma inherently gets stuck in our bodies. Body-based practices (somatic work) allows communication with your nervous system, altering the sensory data sent to your brain. Integrating somatic work, especially in nature, soothes your thoughts and anchors your nervous system in the present, helping it release stored and chronic stress.
Together we will explore your therapeutic goals. This is approached with an awareness and compassion for your experience by taking time to listen, understand your perspective, and create interventions focused on your specific needs. From a place of inclusivity, racial and ethnic equality, and inclusion I will come alongside you on your healing journey by using an integrated approach.
Treatment Modalities:
Body-centered therapy, mindfulness, IFS techniques, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, Acudetox, Somatic, Nature-based therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, Couples Therapy including The Gottman Method, Enneagram and EMDR therapy.
Group Therapy:
Please contact me if you are interested in group therapy. You do not need to be an individual client to join a group. Self-pay or Insurance options offered *Verify Insurance

*Outdoor nature based practices will be integrated with somatic body work. This group will take place in an office with outdoor exercises.

Mindfulness, Journaling, Movement, sharing and partner work may be integrated.
