After Atea, it was the turn of the Turkish delegates. 7 people would represent Turkey. Ahmet from the city of Hatay took the floor first.

Hello I am Ahmet. I come from a city in Turkey on the Syrian border. Hatay is one of the cities that gives the best examples of brotherly living for centuries. Children's rights have been on the agenda since 1945, when the United Nations was founded. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the General Assembly in 1948, recognized that children should receive special care and attention. One of the first works carried out by the General Assembly was the establishment of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), which is the main pillar of international aid efforts for children today. The United Nations adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child on 20 November 1959 for the rights of the child. The United Nations adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child on 20 November 1989 and the Convention entered into force on 2 September 1990. 193 countries have become parties to this convention. Turkey signed the convention on 14 October 1990 and put it into effect on 27 January 1995. Since then, there have been many developments and changes in line with the Convention on the Rights of the Child in Turkey. In recent years, many refugees have come to our country from Syria. Most of them are hosted in the province of Hatay, where I live. Turkey is doing the necessary work so that those children can benefit from all their rights. There are separate schools and classes for them. With the support of the European Union, material needs are met free of charge. Their rights such as shelter, thought and health are also guaranteed by the state. In Turkey, not only Turkish children, but all children are protected and supported.
