After Ayşe, Mehmet from Kocaeli took the floor:

Turkey, within the framework of the importance it attaches to the promotion of children's rights, is a party to the following main international documents:

UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (for girls) and its Additional Protocol. - European Convention on the Enforcement of the Rights of the Child. - ILO Conventions on Child Employment 138 and 182. - Protocol on the Prevention, Suppression and Punishment of Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children, Supplementary to the UN Convention Against Transnational Crime. - With the amendment made to Article 90 of the Constitution on May 17, 2004, "In conflicts that may arise due to the fact that international conventions on fundamental rights and freedoms and laws duly enacted contain different provisions, the provisions of international agreements shall be taken as basis for provisions on the same subject." In this context, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child has been placed in a superior position against national regulations that may contradict itself in terms of the hierarchy of norms. Within the framework of our country's obligations arising from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the “Child Rights Monitoring and Evaluation Upper and Sub-Committees”, established with the Prime Ministry Circular No. 2000/14 dated 26 May 2000, started their work on 22 June 2001.
