What is Child Abuse?
Child abuse is the maltreatment of children. It may be characterized by physical or emotional abuse that substantially hinders a child's ability to grow in a safe environment. Sexual and medical harm are also included in the maltreatment of children. The perpetrators causing the harm are usually the parents or caregivers, but may any include any adult (or even person who is older than them) who inflects harm upon them.
What is Child Neglect?
Child neglect is the failure to provide for a child's basic necessities. These include the failure to provide clean clothes, shoes, food, and shelter. Some may say that the access to education is a child's right. It is also important to note that their is a difference between the ability to provide such things as a caregiver, and the inability to provide these resources because they themselves don't have access to them.
