When is Child Abuse Month?
April is the month in which we advocate for the prevention and action against child abuse, and it has been so since 1983. Its purpose is to bring attention to the issue, and to work with the families in the community to create safer spaces for children. In 2008, Prevent Child Abuse America showcased displays of blue and silver pinwheels were put around public areas in the efforts to bring more attention to child abuse and the prevention of it. Common activities/events to raise awareness may include marathons or informational fairs, make sure to check your local news during the month to get involved!
