Outlined will be the requirements to join the RDU, requirements of the members of the RDU, This units SOP.
Medics applying to the division will already be members of the EMS Department.
Have been employed as an active medic for a minimum of 30 days and hold the rank of (400) EMT.
Possess a valid Drivers License, registered by the city, in a standard car and/or a CDL.
Have an application submitted to and accepted by RDU Command.
Note: Applications may be submitted via the certification form in EMS Documents or in some cases by contact with Command
Members of the team are expected to uphold the highest order of professionalism at all times.
Members must follow Chain of Command and the assignments given.
Members must adhere to standard EMS SOP, as well as the described RDU SOP.
While RDU members are welcome to utilize RDU trucks at any time, it is recommended that quicker vehicles be utilized when low numbers of medics can respond within the city.
RDU specialty uniforms, such as firefighting PPE should only be utilized on occasions cleared by RDU Command.

Members of RRU must follow the SAMS SOP in addition to the RRU SOP.
Only certified drivers are allowed to drive fire trucks, unless in a training/probationary driving period.
Vehicles should remain locked at all times, when not directly in use (fines may be issued to members leaving doors open).
Chain of Command and orders must be followed to maintain a proper and efficient response agency.
Applicants of RRU may hold strikes on their records, however any strike occurring after acceptance into the RRU will result in a 14 day stand down from the unit.
Strikes received as a result of misuse of RRU equipment or negligence will result in stand down from the unit.
Other regulations (based on what certification/training is required or opted for) will be listed below under the appropriate course.
RESPONSE DRIVERS: Note that ANYONE can be revived at trap scenes now, regardless of their bpm. Bill EVERYONE and revive EVERYONE accordingly.
All RRU applicants will attend and pass an approved training course in order to drive RDU vehicles and use other RDU equipment or uniforms.
Monthly “refresher” training courses will be offered in order for members to remain fresh on procedures.
Training will be conducted by RRU certified FTOs or RRU Command Staff.

RRU Driver Certification Course
RRU Drivers participate in rapid response procedures, timed vehicle courses, off-road driving, and tactical maneuvering.
RRU certified drivers are responsible for their vehicle, as well as any other EMS or patient riding within it.
Drivers are completely EMT and Fire certified.
This course can be utilized in certain instances when retraining/probationary medics of the department are required hours due to a violation of SOP.

Leading EMT- Level 300's and above Must have been employed by SAMS for minimum of 30 Days You must have a valid Drivers License Must know how to swim
Any Water Rescue Certified Command Member may Approve and Certify New Unit Members.
Members of the SWRU are expected to be highly professional during all situations, especially during high stress scenarios.
Members of the SWRU must be sure to follow their Chain Of Command.
1IC (1st in Charge or the Head of the SWRU)
2IC (2nd in Charge or the Assistant Head of the SWRU)
TBA SWRU Members (Normal members of the SWRU)
SWRU Recruits (Probationary members of the SWRU Members of the SWRU are still expected to follow SAMS SOP in addition)
All SWRU applicants will go through an approved training course.
There is no guarantee that you will become a part of the SWRU unit after this.
All SWRU applicants will be expected to attend 1 handling course per month set out by High Command, once accepted into SWRU Unit.

Have attained the title of Leading EMT (300).
Possess a valid Drivers License, registered by the city, in a standard car and/or a CDL.
Have an application submitted to and accepted by AG1U Command.
Members of the team are expected to uphold the highest order of professionalism at all times.
Members must follow Chain of Command and the assignments given.
Members must adhere to standard EMS SOP, as well as the described AG1U SOP.

Go over roles of the Pilot, Co-Pilot and the Medic, and the role they play in take-off, landings
Let Trainee take a seat within the aircraft and let them take off following the right procedures.
Let the trainee test and go over the controls and procedures. (Can happen just at Sandy Shores by lifting the aircraft a little bit, or do it during a scene.)
Let Trainee fly towards the scene and let them land following procedures.
Let Trainee take off and fly back to Sandy Shores Airfield and let the trainee land there while explaining the procedures for transport.

Those who hold the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (149) rank or higher may apply to join the Field Training Unit.
You must have a valid driver's license.
Members of the FTU are expected to be highly professional during all situations, especially during high-stress situations.
Members of the Field Training Unit are expected to be on duty regularly, to show what we expect of our recruits.
Members of the Field Training Unit must follow EMS SOP in addition to the FTO SOP.
No member of the Field Training Unit shall hold a strike on their record. Should a member receive a strike, they will be stood down from the Field Training Unit for 7 days.
