As a class, students were reading the fiction book "Peak" by Roland Smith. I planned activities around the premise of the book - the youngest person to summit Mount Everest.
I arranged a skype with Jordan Romero, the actual youngest person to summit Everest. I promoted his book "No Summit Out of Sight" that we have in the GRJH library.
I planned an activity using nearpod where students used iPads to go on a virtual field trip to Mount Everest.
