I used ChatGPT to generate haikus inspired by popular songs familiar to students. This activity served as an introduction and engagement piece to the haiku form. Students then composed their own haikus for a class competition. I submitted the top two haikus from each class period to a national poetry contest and many students were then selected to be published in the Young American Poetry Digest.
I designed a pseudo Amazon listing template as part of a research project for students to promote an invention from the Industrial Revolution. I facilitated this project through Google Classroom, enabling each student to edit their own copy after they've completed the research portion of the project.
I produced a video montage to showcase GRISD's Big Event, during which students and staff engage in community service.
