Stadium Riverside Walk, Singapore
麻雀虽小,五脏俱全。
Singapore is small, but we get to see greenery, sand, sea, rivers, open spaces around us.
Many travel to Singapore Sports Hub to use the sport facilities or attend performance events.
The next time you are there, why not stroll along the Stadium Riverside Walk to get some fresh air, watch youngsters playing beach volleyball or rowers kayaking on the river?
Another highly recommended green attraction is Jurong Lake Gardens, where you can visit a lake, park facilities, boardwalks and wild land together.
Asia is a melting pot of cultures.
In most places, things are efficient and new. Many travellers outside of Asia visit various countries in Asia to see the interesting and exotic feel Asia offers to them.
Taipei is my favourite city in Asia. There is that lost in time sense, the scholarly vibe, the vibrant economy hum all meshed into this modern city.
I have travelled to Taiwan countless times and know the different regions of Taiwan very well. With my strong command in the Chinese Language, this enables me to uncover more places to visit from materials I have read or viewed.
I have also been to South Korea a couple of times. Check out my trip on capturing the early autumn foliage across South Korea.
Other than Taiwan and South Korea, I am familiar with Japan, Thailand, China and Mongolia.
St. Augustine, USA
"Travel isn't always pretty. It isn't always comfortable.... The journey changes you;.... It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body.... Hopefully, you leave something good behind." - Anthony Bourdain
Having stayed in Toronto previously, I love travelling around the cities in North America. New York City is my first love, with its neat, grid layout which makes it easy for anyone to explore.
North America is more than major cities. A highly recommended way of moving around is self drive, which you can enjoy small town stays and long country road drives.
In USA, I have covered the entire stretch of East Coast from Miami to New York; the South Texas region from El Paso to New Orleans; the West Coast from San Diego to San Francisco.
In Canada, other than the East Coast from Toronto to Quebec City, I have also covered the West Coast from Vancouver to Yukon, where I witnessed my first Aurora Borealis.
Alberobello, Italy
"All that is gold does not glitter. Not all those who wander are lost." - J.R.R Tolkien
My fascination with Europe started with my graduation backpacking trip to Italy. I could remember the hostel stays, canned food dinners, and long walks by foot to the Vatican City from Rome City centre.
I recently returned to Italy to cover the southern region from Rome to Sicily, exploring more ancient cities like Agrigento and Matera. Not forgetting the very cute mushroom looking trulli houses in Alberobello.
Another less visited but highly recommended country is Ireland, where the winding landscapes are so picturesque that I could forgive myself that I only had instant cup noodles and bak kwa for Christmas lunch as no restaurants were open in the Ring of Kerry at that time of the year. Ireland is wild, as you can see from the Giant's Causeway and Cliff of Moher. I also made a trip to North Ireland to get a taste of the conflict aftermath in Belfast.
While most of Europe looks pretty much the same in terms of architecture, do visit Spain for its courageous adoption of many funky, unconventional architecture designs.
I have also travelled extensively in France and UK. I am also familiar with Turkey, Germany, Finland, Poland, Austria, The Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Switzerland etc.
Lake Macquerie, Australia
"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It is already tomorrow in Australia." - Charles M. Schulz
Mention Australia, lakes, beaches, vineyards come to mind. People visit Australia to relax and enjoy the sun, sea and sand.
Lake Macquerie is one such spot where the calm and slow pace of life beckons to hectic travellers. Nearby areas in New South Wales in Sydney provide adrenaline-rushed activities such as quadbikes, go karts, dolphin cruise boats with boom net.
I hve also covered Perth in Western Australia, Adelaide and Kangaroo Island in South Australia, Melbourne in Victoria State, Brisbane and Gold Coast in Queensland State.
While the South Island is more popular amongst travellers, the North Island in New Zealand consists of three quarters of New Zealand's population, with most staying in Auckland. From there, one can travel south to visit Rotorua for the geothermal activities and geysers and Wellington to see the governmental buildings and the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa on the history of its indigenous Maori people.
