Antea Social, Singapore
Whether it's breakfast, brunch, afternoon tea, dinner, supper, cafes can be relevant for all. The cafe scene in Singapore has evolved from brunch/waffle/ice cream to singular item focus like tea/coffee/gelato/plated dessert. There are also more theme bars for cocktail lovers to experience the different concoctions.
A cafe is meant to be a relaxing place, for you to let loose, enjoy the ambience, be it with friends or solo. At Antea Social, the focus is on tea. Let the aroma sink into you as you sip the tea and while the afternoon away.
I enjoy places with good ambience. Some recommended ones are Kafe Utu (African cuisine), KKI Sweets (Japanese plated desserts), Barbary Coast (reminiscence of San Francisco's Gold Mining era) etc.
SushiSamba, Singapore
Any cuisine, you name it, it is in Singapore.
Singapore attracts chefs from abroad to set up their specialty restaurants in Singapore.
At Kai Garden, the difference with its Peking Duck is its use of 5 sauces - original, sweet, sesame pepper, seafood, black pepper and 5 colour crepes. It comes with rice crackers which creates the extra crunch. Coupled with the crispy duck skin, the Peking duck dish scores in all.
Other worthy places to visit are CUT by Wolfgang Puck (American Fine Dining Steakhouse), KOMA (Modern Japanese cuisine with splendid interior design), Odette (French cuisine sensory dining experience), Sommer Dining (Modern European fine dining), SushiSamba Singapore (Brazilian Japanese Sky Dining), Zén (Nordic Japanese fine dining) etc.
Liu Da Ma BBQ Bar Restaurant, Singapore
Singapore is a food haven. Food need not necessarily be expensive to be delicious.
Every now and then, I will have cravings of sorts - cheese, breads, cakes, ice cream, acai, mee siam, chee cheong fun, Chinese cold appetisers, bubble tea etc.
Sichuan, Xinjiang cuisine are increasingly popular in Singapore. Tasty cold appetisers definitely makes a meal more enjoyable and the signature cold dish is a must order when you visit Liu Da Ma.
High on my must try list includes Desem Bakery (sourdough bread), Yong Huat Delight (freshly made Chee Cheong Fun), 96 Kwai Luck Cooked Food (mee siam) etc.
