Paris is my most visited European city, somehow just thought of including it in my itinerary when I travel to the nearby countries. I last visited whole of France in 2013, so I have a good sense of the different sights in the various regions. After 12 years, just thought of revisiting Paris, as well as checking out the yet to visit cities.

My travels always starts off with research. For the Western countries, these are the go to guide books I would browse to get ideas. Along the way, I would get more insights from blogs and social media posts.
After getting a sense of the places I would like to visit, then it comes to actual route mapping. This would be accompanied by accommodation and restaurant research. I must say what caught me by surprise was the accommodation rates. In locations like Saint-Tropez, Monaco and Paris, nothing fancy would pop up unless it is S$500 and up per night (twin / triple bedder). Hence, that requires further research of nearby locations to these cities on more affordable accommodation.
Europe stays pretty much the same regardless of year of travel. It provides that sense of familiarity for visitors wishing to relive certain memories or life stages. After the familiar thatched roof houses in Veules-les-roses, the winding roads and port views in Monaco, the museums, shopping and cafe streets in Paris, the half timbered German architecture in Colmar, the tropical and seaside vibe of Saint-Tropeze, I also explored areas with more modern architecture like Notre Dame Du Haut, Confluence area in Lyon, Fondation Louis Vuitton and La Villette in Paris. With Paris being a fashion haven, I enjoyed checking out the luxury and department store designs. I also enjoyed lazing during hot afternoons in the steeped in opulence and heritage hotel lounges. I have attached the video which shows the various sights I have visited.
Jusqu'à la prochaine fois, Paris!
